• The Finish Line…..by K. Ford

I love the applicable lessons of athleticism that force us to think about the enduring power needed to finish a race, match, or game.  A lot of preparation went into preparing an athlete for the physical task of starting well, maintaining stamina, and completing the scheduled performance. I’m sure most of us are acquainted with sports, so we know the intensity of the sweat, heavy breathing, and fatigue that accompanies the athletes involved.  It’s not easy, but it’s something they diligently trained for.

Sometimes we face things in life that can be likened to the journey of an athlete.  We’ve taken on certain agendas, goals, and lifestyles that require a remarkable mindset of starting well, maintaining stamina, and completing a task as an athlete would.  Instead of sweat, there might be occasional tears.  Instead of heavy breathing, there might be moments where you need to catch your second wind of inspiration.  Instead of fatigue, there might be the occasional doubt, worry, or temptation to do the unthinkable -QUIT.

So let’s imagine God as your coach in these very moments, as He cheers you on to your designated “finish lines”. He senses that you:

    • may be running low on hope
    • may be failing in your faith
    • may be on the brink of stopping prematurely
    • may be too distracted to see the upcoming finish line

And right when it seems like you can’t move another step, there is just one word, timely inspiration, encouraging scripture, or confidence builder that makes its way to your running lane and gives you the boost you need to make it.

Be encouraged, my dear lady friends.  You were destined to win. May God continue to bless you and keep you on your unique journey as mothers, wives, mentors, leaders, ministers, career women, business women, students, game-changers, etc.
